AI consultancy for ambitious businesses.
I help SMEs use AI to save time, cut costs, and get more from the team they already have. Strategy, implementation and automation across finance, marketing, sales and operations.
How it works
A clear three-step process.
Discovery
A proper look at how your business runs today - your tools, your workflows, and where your team's time is going. We identify where AI can genuinely add value, and just as importantly, where it can't.
Strategy
A clear plan with costs, timelines, and the expected return. Prioritised by impact, sequenced so the early wins fund the longer projects. No sixty-slide decks - a practical roadmap you can act on.
Implementation
The systems built, integrated with the tools you already use, and live in your business. Your team trained to run them. Clear documentation. Results measured against the goals we set at the start.

The founder
Fifteen years doing the work, not advising from the sidelines.
I've built and run businesses, hired and scaled teams, generated millions in sales, raised capital, and spent fifteen years doing the work, not advising from the sidelines.
Every business I've built has been a service business. Clients to look after, standards to hold, and work that has to be world class every single time. You don't deliver that on goodwill and long hours alone. You deliver it by building systems that are scalable and repeatable, so quality is engineered in rather than a happy accident. That's where technology earns its keep.
The multiplier effect

Human + AI = a high-performance team that can punch above its weight.
Technology shouldn't replace your best people. It should give them leverage. I build the systems that turn small teams into operations that punch well above their size.
FAQ
Questions we get asked a lot.
Probably not. Most of the AI tools we recommend are designed for small teams and cost less than you'd think. If your business has repetitive work that eats time, or decisions that rely on gut feel instead of data, there's almost certainly something worth exploring.
We look at how your business runs, find the places where AI and technology can save you time or money, and then help you put those changes in place. At Cobalt, that means one person does the thinking and the building. You work directly with Ben, not an account manager.
It's a 60-minute conversation covering every part of how your business operates. Within a few days, you get a written roadmap: a prioritised list of where AI can genuinely help, what to do first, and what it would take to get there. The audit stands on its own. You walk away with a clear plan whether or not we work together beyond it.
The AI audit is a fixed fee of £2,750. Beyond that, ongoing work is scoped and priced before you commit to anything. We'll always tell you what something will cost before we start. No open-ended retainers, no surprises.
The audit gives you a roadmap within a week. Some of the quick wins we find can be put in place in days. Larger projects, like automating a core workflow or rolling out a new tool across your team, typically take a few weeks to a few months depending on scope.
An agency has layers: account managers, project managers, developers, QA. You speak to one person and the work gets done by someone else. With Cobalt, you speak to Ben, and Ben does the work. That means faster decisions, lower costs, and nothing lost in translation.
Not at all. We explain everything in plain language and handle the technical side. You'll never be asked to learn a programming language or read a spec sheet. If we recommend something, we'll make sure your team can actually use it.
That's up to you. The roadmap is yours to keep, and plenty of businesses take it and run with it themselves. If you'd like help putting the recommendations into practice, we can scope that out together. There's no obligation either way.
