Will AI replace construction workers?
No. AI handles data-heavy tasks like estimating, scheduling and document management. It doesn't replace skilled tradespeople, site managers or the judgment that comes from experience. The businesses that use AI well will have a significant advantage over those that don't, but the jobs themselves aren't going anywhere.
Is AI actually useful on a building site?
Yes, but it depends on what you mean. Computer vision for safety monitoring works on site today. Drone surveys with AI analysis are common on larger projects. Most of the other AI applications, estimating, scheduling, document management, run in the office and feed into site operations.
What about data security on projects?
